Cornelius Delaney
To The Profound Darkness of Its Heart
"We like to talk about the broken and the deranged. We are attracted to the ridiculous and the inane."
The above is the opening sentences from Cornelius Delaney & Michael Moynihans gold coin donation pamphlet describing them and their art!
I think it sums it up quite well. I was instantly attracted to the dark empty shop that their art was being displayed in, in Lismore today. As I opened the door he told me he was about to close and turned the lights on for us to have a look....it looked better without the lights so he turned them off again....

More Information about Cornelius and Purchase His Art
I love trying to figure out what a certain piece of art means to the artist and what they were or wern't thinking when they were creating it!

The Family Curse Is Dead and Well
As far as I know the curse begins with my birth...so while my mother was pushing me out in the car in our driveway with my grandmother catching me...my great uncle ray died...then 19 years later on my birthday my grandmother who was catching me died.......now this week my great aunt sylv passed, the wife of uncle ray...she was lovely at the ripe old age of 93 there is no reason to be sad about her passing as it is what she wanted...so my mother has now informed me that aunty sylv died on her sisters birthday...was buried on her birthday which is a day before my grandmothers birthday...cursed I tell you my uncle thinks it's 'special' I suppose it is in a sense...I should probably do some research into other birthdays and passing on my family considering our family tree goes back to before Australia was invaded/discovered by us white folk!!
Do you have some crazy weird family curse??? please share

Marijuanilla
This Xtreme herb is named Marijuanilla, which means "Little Marijuana" because when it grows it resembles a little Marijuana bush. And when smoked, this Xtreme herb releases a distinctive Vanilla aroma which is thoroughly enjoyable.
Marijuanilla offers a nice light, sweet taste which differs from most other smoking herbs around. It's a great alternative to tobacco and can be enjoyed at any time, day or night, to chill out and relax.
This is the first Xtreme herb I have tried, I wouldn't really say it tastes like vanilla but I am a smoker so my taste buds could be off it was however pretty darn smooth and nice to smoke. I'm not really sure how to describe the feeling definitely a chill out herb kind of like weed but not I sort of got that relaxed feeling and maybe the first sort of feeling of being lighter in the head when you smoke weed but not a super stoned feeling. Definitely relaxed and it wears off in a couple of hours and then you feel back to normal....interesting to say the least. I'd probably rate it 5/10.
I shall let you know how the other ones go over the weekend!

Legally High
I've been curious about this for some time now so I bit the bullet today and purchased some legal smoking herbs to see what they are like. A guy I know has said that the legal high pills you can get are not bad so I thought I'd give these legal herbs a go....why not?
I purchased the Herbal Toke Value Pack from Xtreme Herbs so I shall keep you posted on the outcome of my little experiment....

Eco Mart = Local Satisfaction
Welcome to EcoMart Northern Rivers Co-op Ltd
The not-for-profit EcoMart Northern Rivers Co-op will create an alternative to the mainstream food system where food produced at a distance is transported to the Northern Rivers through a series of unknown suppliers. By contrast, the co-op enables us to have relationships with the people who produce our food directly and that means: more sustainable production, just and healthy food. Why local?
Locally produced foods travel shorter distances, and use less fossil fuels to get to our table. This reduces our personal contributions to climate change and helps us prepare for a time when fossil fuels are less available. All of our local food will be fresher and more nutritious.
Farmers and producers of local food are friends and neighbours, and pricing is expected to reflect a fair value for their work. When we buy from local farmers and producers, the money circulates several times before it leaves the community, Strengthening the local economy for all of us.The EcoMart Northern Rivers Co-op Ltd supports every form of local food exchange. It is meant to complement local farmers markets and farm-gate operations.
So Many Reasons to Buy Locally Produced Food.
- good for the consumers!
- fresher food
- more nutritious
- better tasting and higher quality
- healthy eating supports a healthy lifestyle and improved quality of life
- good conscience food choices that reflect our values/morals
- knowledge of the history/story of the food we eat, where it is from and how it is produced
- reduced health risks of food from other countries with different food safety laws and practices
- safer, there will be less opportunity for contamination which can occur during mass production, longdistance transportation, and longer storage
Good for the Farmers/Producers!
- supports family farms to stay in business
- producers name their price - profit to producers and not middlemen
- web-based ordering means the goods are sold before the producer delivers them
- producers list goods in the quantities they want to sell and when they have goods available
- Producers need only deliver goods once a week to the one location
- consumer support for more sustainable farm practices
- new opportunities to produce quality food crops for locals (rather than volume commodity to ship elsewhere)
Good for the Community!
- builds relationships between producers and consumers
- money stays in the community
- supports the local economy, new employment/business opportunities
- builds direct relationships between consumers/producers/neighbours
- food system education, understanding how our food choices affect the quality of life for everyone
- supports regional food self reliance
Good for the Planet!
- environmentally friendly
- local production for local consumption means less food transport
- using local shops and home delivery means less food transport and fewer fossil fuels used
- reduced contribution to air pollution and global warming
- less demand for a declining resource with related geopolitical consequences, read about peak oil for more information
- supports organic, sustainable farming/food production practices and reduced pesticides or insecticides and
- reduce any other conventional or mainstream practices with adverse effects on the environment (e.g. large scale monoculture)
- protect, replenish and improve the quality of the soil
- less waste e.g. reduced efforts involved in transporting long distances, unnecessary packaging, and spoiled food
- fits universal human values/morals
- labour rights (work conditions, fair pay, justice)
- good food as a human right not just a commodity
- money/economic power towards a sustainable food system (rather than the current corporate dominated model)

101 Things To Do Before I Die
I bought the book 101 things to do before you die by Richard Horne a couple of years ago as I thought it was a super cool idea. It has sort of lived on my bookshelf for some the last couple of years and now it has resurfaced and wants me to get right on into it and start doing all the crazy cool things in it!
The things I am super keen on a.t.m are as follows
-Skydiving.....I plan to do this in the next couple of weeks when I get my crew sorted
-Bungee Jumping.....I'm off to N.Z next year so why not bungee from the highest bungee in the world
-Publish a Cult Website....I wonder if this blog could end up as a cult website??
-Scuba Dive....I plan on going back to Thailand for a couple of weeks to tick this one off
There are many more on the list which I will tick off as I complete but these few are by far the ones I want to complete first! As long as they don't kill me in the process!!

Inspired
After watching Julie and Julia yesterday I am inspired to do one make-up project a week for a year until I am to enrol into the course I want to do on the Gold Coast I believe it would inspire me to be more creative and to spend less time on the internet.....which is such a time waster for me. I could be doing much more productive things with my time but instead I go on facebook, read blogs, shop, download tv shows etc etc when I could be being creative, doing someone that satisfies my soul.
I shouldn't get started on facebook it is a love/hate relationship love because when I first joined I was able to reconnect with a long lost guy friend who is crazy cool and a really amazing person, I also plan social activites through facecrack when I don't have credit and I do like to stalk some random ha! but really it's such a silly little thing to feel the need to have to check everyday! The silly games that I get addicted to, I just wish it didn't exist....totally off topic any who.....
I just now need to find a few perfect books to get inspiration from to do some crazy cool make-up characters and special effects. I am currently planning a crime scene as my father has been nice enough to hook me up with some crime scene tape, I have made some photo markers and I plan on doing some sort of stabbing, gunshot wound...am yet to decide scene in my bathroom which I will have to turn into a grubby mess to add to the effect I'm after.....stay tuned folks.

Jolie
Definitely a Team Jolie fan here! I think I fell in love with her from the moment I watched Girl Interrupted I think I related to her character Lisa and from that point on I have been a massive fan! I find her totally facinating and beautiful.
So....last night I went to thy local cinema to see her latest release Salt. Definitely a movie that will keep you wondering who is good, who is bad, who is an American spy and who is a Russian spy, awesome actuon scenes, Jolie is by far one of the best action actresses, how many other female Hollywood stars can pull of action scenes and be believable? Finally a movie where someone gets hit in the face and they actually bleed, it's the simple things people......the character transformations for Evelyn Salt where impressive from blonde, to black, fake teeth, contacts, to short hair and male, go the make-up department!! And the final twist I didn't see coming......4 stars from me.
